It is located in the southwest of Longzi County, Shannan City, Tibet Autonomous Region, adjacent to cuomei County in the west, Naidong district and qusong County in the north, 47 kilometers away from the county seat.
Rerong Township belongs to the South Himalayan raccoon dog landform. The terrain is high in the West and low in the East, with a relative elevation difference of about 2000 meters and an average altitude of 4300 meters. The territory belongs to the plateau temperate semi-arid monsoon climate zone. Strong solar radiation, long sunshine time, low temperature, large temperature difference between day and night, clear dry and wet, rainy at night, dry in winter and spring, windy. The annual sunshine hours are 2983 hours, the annual frost free period is 125 days, and the annual precipitation is 279.41mm. The common natural disasters are drought, snow, hail, wind, frost, earthquake and so on.

In 1960, Rerong township was established, in 1969, the commune was changed, and in 1984, the township was changed. In October 1987, the three townships of re Rong, Se Gong and Cai Mai were merged into a new re Rong township. The total land area of the township is 772.24 square kilometers. the main mineral resources in the territory include placer gold, lead, sulfur, iron, crystal, etc. wild animal and plant resources include leopard, wild ox, Tibetan eared pheasant, deer, otter, Zhangzi, black bear, yellow goat, hare, fox, marmot, eagle, pheasant, Chongge, Panax notoginseng, Ganoderma lucidum, Fritillaria, rhubarb, Saussurea involucrata, Phellodendron amurense, Agrimonia pilosa, podophyllum, yellow flower, Polygala tenuifolia, etc. the main tree species in the forest are arbor pine, alpine pine, Himalayan fir, spruce, fallen tree, Cyclobalanopsis glauca, larch, Tibetan cypress, Hippophae rhamnoides, Populus pekinensis, Populus alba and Cunninghamia lanceolata. Infrastructure construction
The stone bridge in Wotang village, a stone bridge built by villagers with self raised funds in Rerong Township, Longzi County, has been completed and passed. The bridge is 20 meters long and 4 meters wide. The total investment of the bridge is 160000 yuan, including 100000 yuan raised by the villagers themselves and 60000 yuan converted from the labor of the masses. It is the first bridge built entirely by the villagers' self raised funds in Rerong Township, which solves the traffic inconvenience that has plagued the masses of Wotang village for many years. Wotang village is a large administrative village in Rerong Township, including six natural villages, which are separated by Longzi River in the middle. In dry season, villagers need to ride a horse to pass through. When the rainy season comes, villagers can't pass through, causing great inconvenience to the production and life of villagers on both sides. On May 3, 2007, under the support and guidance of the Party committee and government of Rerong Township, village head Ge sangjianzeng seriously organized preparations and mobilized the whole village to start the construction of Wotang village bridge. With the joint efforts of the whole village, the stone bridge in Wotang village has been completed recently. On November 28, 2017, 317 people from 93 households in zhadang village, Rerong Township, Longzi county were relocated. 93 resettlement houses, village committee activity center, health center, public toilet, garbage collection pool, driveway, greening, sidewalk and other municipal supporting facilities were built. The planned area of the project is 85.16 Mu, with a construction area of 54258 square meters.
