Tuanjie Township is under the jurisdiction of Mingshui county. Located in the middle of the county, the villages under its jurisdiction are distributed around the county, which are suburban townships. Tuanjie Township was established in January 1962 by the production teams of Mingshui Town, Youai and Tongquan communes. Because the villages around the city belonged to Tuanjie Township when they were small townships, they were named Tuanjie commune. In April 1984, the government and society were separated and changed to Tuanjie Township.

Tuanjie Township is high in the East and low in the west, with flat and fertile land. The total area of the township is 163.43 square kilometers, and the cultivated area is 133000 mu, mainly planting corn, millet, sorghum, soybean, flax, beet, sunflower, potato, etc. Township run industries include brick factory, oil factory, comprehensive repair factory, pastry factory, etc. The township governs 15 villages, including Xianfeng, Xingwang, industrious and thrifty, Meili, Chunguang, Chaoyang, Xiangrong, Chuncheng, Xinfa, Huzhu, public security, Chengbei, Minle, Baowei and Wudou. At the end of 1992, the total population of the township was 23900. The minorities are Manchu and Mongolian. The township government is located in Yuxin street, Mingshui town.
