Pingshan Town
Pingshan Town is the resident of the people's Government of Pingshan County, Yibin City, Sichuan Province. Originally named Xinfa Township and Zhenxi Township, Pingshan Town is located in the lower reaches of the Minjiang River, 42 kilometers away from Yibin City, the first city of the Yangtze River. It belongs to the "half-hour economic circle" of Yibin. With convenient water and land transportation, the golden waterway of Minjiang River, Yiping road and Yiyan road cross the rural area. It is the transportation hub from Yibin to Leibo and Leshan. Pingshan Town is adjacent to Gaochang town of Yibin County in the East, Xianxi town of Yibin County in the west, Lichang town and Gubai town of Yibin County in the north, and Dacheng town in the south. It is only 42 kilometers to the urban area of Yibin City. The town covers an area of 86.36 square kilometers. It governs 13 villages and 7 communities with 57755 people (2017).
On August 24, 2019, the people's Government of Sichuan Province approved the adjustment of the administrative divisions of some townships in Yibin City: Yachi township was abolished, and the administrative areas of the former Yachi Township, Sanhe Village and Manao village in Dacheng town were put under the jurisdiction of Pingshan Town, and the people's Government of Pingshan Town was stationed at 4 Tongxin street.
Historical evolution
In order to help the construction of Xiangjiaba Hydropower Station, the third largest hydropower station in China, Pingshan County needs to be relocated collectively, and Zhenxi township of Yibin County is determined as the county seat after multiple site selection.
According to the spirit of No. 42 document of Sichuan Provincial People's government, the two villages of Zhenxi Township and Gaochang town in Yibin County, jiangba and Shipan, are under the jurisdiction of Pingshan County. The Township People's government is stationed in Xinnong, and is expanded and renamed Xinfa township.
In 2006, approved by the Ministry of Civil Affairs on February 6, 2006 (min Han [2006] No. 30), Pingshan County government moved from Pingshan Town to Xinfa township of Pingshan County.
In 2009, the construction of Pingshan new county was officially launched.
On May 31, 2012, the deadline for the relocation of Pingshan immigrants met many residents of the old county.
On April 23, 2012, the people's Government of Sichuan Province approved the removal of Xinfa Township in Pingshan County to build Pingshan Town;
On September 1, 2012, Pingshan County abolished the organizational system of Xinfa Township, and officially established a new Pingshan Town. The people's Government of the town is temporarily stationed in Shipan, which governs the administrative area of Xinfa Township, Chengguan town of Pingshan County.

The town is rich in water resources, with Minjiang River crossing the whole territory, dividing Pingshan Town into two parts; Zhenxi river flows from south to north along xinfachang town into Minjiang River; leijiagou reservoir with a capacity of 1.54 million cubic meters, Shipan reservoir with a capacity of 300000 cubic meters, huangjiagou reservoir with a capacity of 100000 cubic meters, and Changhe weir with an annual water diversion capacity of 500000 cubic meters. There are two docks in Pingshan Town, the inland waterway of Minjiang River, which is convenient for water transportation; 307 provincial road and Yixian highway pass through the town; village roads extend in all directions. There are two industrial parks in Shipan and songjiaba, and the industrial development momentum is good.
Economic situation
The town of Pingshan is famous for its rich honeysuckle, so it has a good reputation as "the hometown of honeysuckle". Honeysuckle in Pingshan Town is mainly distributed in Jinxiang, Hongping, ganao and other villages, with a planting area of 3000 mu and an annual output of 120 tons. Its products are exported to Chengdu, Chongqing, Yunnan and other places.
