Liushui town
Liushui town is located in the northeast corner of Pingtan County, Fujian Province. In the north, it faces Dongxiang Township across the sea, only 18 kilometers away from Baigou Archipelago; in the south, it borders on the 916 section of Chengguan; in the East, it borders the Taiwan Strait, only 68 nautical miles away from Taiwan's Hsinchu; in the west, it borders Zhonglou township. The town is located in Liushui village, 9 kilometers away from the county. It has jurisdiction over 26 administrative villages and 71 natural villages. Scenic spots include "fairyland in the East China Sea".
In 2017, the administrative area was 4200 hectares, with 44921 permanent residents.

Economics
Before the Qing Dynasty, Liushui was a fish distribution center. During the reign of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty, it was a flood area. The west of Liushui town is the agricultural area, and the East is the key fishing area of the county. From the early 430s to the early 60s, the fishing boats were mainly non motorized, and the fishing boats were not mechanized. In 1963, the total output of grain was 2067 tons, accounting for 14.1% of the total output of the county; the total output of fishery was 7603 tons, accounting for 23.3% of the total output of the county. From the mid-1960s to the end of 1970s, agricultural production was strengthened, and the ability of drought resistance and fishing was continuously improved.
The degree of mechanization of fishery has gradually increased, and fishery production has begun to develop to the open sea, and other domestic fishing grounds have been expanded. In 1978, the total output value of agriculture was 14.17 million yuan, including 9.08 million yuan of fishery. The total grain output is 2953 tons, and the total fishery output is 11000 tons. After the 1980s, with the development of fishery and agriculture, other economies developed rapidly. In fishery production, the policy of combining breeding, fishing and processing was implemented, and offshore fishing and pelagic fishing were vigorously developed. Beach aquaculture developed rapidly, and oysters, clams, kelp, laver and mussels were cultivated. With the rapid development of township and village enterprises, which mainly focus on aquatic products processing industry, their products have entered the international market, with more than 10 kinds of export products, becoming an important export base of Pingtan County. In 1995, there were 524 fishing boats and 13400 tons in the town, forming three thousand mu aquaculture patches, with a mariculture area of 2800 mu, 101 town and village run enterprises, and more than 40 products exported. The total social output value of the town is 319 million yuan, and the total industrial and agricultural output value is 146 million yuan (constant price in 1990), including 54.5 million yuan of fishery output value and 82.37 million yuan of industrial output value. The total value of foreign trade purchase accounts for 80% of the county's export. The total output of fishery is 41300 tons, accounting for 26.6% of the total output of the county.
history
In the first year of the Republic of China, Liushui town was roughly the administrative area of yuankengbei district. In the 20th year of the Republic of China, Pingsha township was set up as two districts; in January 26, Beiyuan and Junshan under its jurisdiction set up joint insurance; in September 28, Pingsha township was restored; in August 31, Pingsha township was merged into Zhongzheng township. In September of the 38th year of the Republic of China, Liushui, Wuhu, Junshan, Yufan and other townships were set up;
In 1956, it was incorporated into Zhonglou district; in April 1958, it was withdrawn from the district and merged with the township, and divided into Liushui Township and Junshan township; in August of that year, it belonged to Liushui branch; in 1961, Liushui people's commune was established; in September 1984, Liushui township was restored. In December 1994, Liushui township was abolished and Liushui town was established.
In 1997, there were 25 village committees under its jurisdiction, namely, Liushui, quelou, shamei, queshui, Junshan, Yuyu, Beigang, Shanmen, kengbei, xiecuo, Wucheng, Mojing, songcuo, Nansong, Xinhu, Dacheng, DAAO, Xilou, shanbian, Yufan, Donghai, Wuxing, Gangdong, Songnan and Houtian.
