In December 2019, Sichuan Provincial People's government agreed that Bazhong City should adjust Bazhou District, cancel Lingyun Township, and put its administrative area under the jurisdiction of Yutang street.
In July 2020, it was reconfirmed as "National Health township (county) in 2019" by the National Patriotic Health Campaign Committee.
