Erlongshan township is located in the central and southern part of zalaite banner, 24 kilometers away from the seat of the banner government. The landform belongs to hilly area, with altitude of 300-500m, precipitation of 400-500mm, frost free period of 125-140 days, and annual average temperature of 4 ℃. It belongs to temperate continental monsoon climate area.

Erlongshan Township covers a total area of 460 square kilometers and now governs 11 villages with 21000 people. the cultivated area is 319000 mu, and the main food crops are corn, sorghum, mung bean and sunflower. The total output exceeds 100 million jin, and the total number of livestock is 53000. The forest area of Erlongshan township is 23000 mu. In 2001, Erlongshan township was incorporated into the national Three North Shelterbelt Project system. It is planned to build two bases of ten thousand mu apricot and ten thousand mu orchard. The township plans to return 100000 mu of farmland to forest and grassland within 10 years to improve the ecological environment. the water area of the township is 7900 mu, of which the water area of "Longwang Lake" is more than 3000 mu, the water depth is 2 meters, the annual output of fish is 150000-200000 Jin, the annual output of reed is 200000-300000 Jin, and the economic benefit can reach 400000-500000 yuan, which has great development potential.
