Xinzhan town
Xinzhan Town, subordinate to Jiaohe City, Jilin City, Jilin Province, is one of the first batch of established towns in China. It is located in the north of Jiaohe City, bordering Qianjin Township in the East, LAFA street in the south, Tiangang town in the west, Shulan city in the north and Jiaohe City in the south, covering an area of 567.93 square kilometers.
In 1909, Xinzhan town belonged to the three districts of Ermu County; in 1984, it was changed from Xinzhan commune to Xinzhan town. By the end of 2018, the number of registered residence in new town was 33787. As of June 2020, Xinzhan town has one community and 31 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the town people's government is stationed in Xinzhan village.
The main food crops in Xinzhan town are corn and rice; the main animal husbandry is raising pigs and cattle. In 2018, there were 15 industrial enterprises in Xinzhan Town, including 2 above scale and 79 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
History of construction
In 1909, the first year of Xuantong in Qing Dynasty, it belonged to three districts of Ermu county.
During the period of northeast occupied by Japanese, it belonged to the puppet Jiaohe county. In 1933, a new railway station was set up. In 1935, the New Station Street office was established. In February 1946, the station area was changed.
In 1954, Xinzhan district was transformed into Xinzhan town.
In 1959, Xinzhan town was changed into happy road commune.
In 1964, happy road commune was renamed Xinzhan commune.

There are dahuangdingzi mountain in the east of Xinzhan Town, Laoyeling mountain in the northwest and LAFA mountain in the south. Xinzhan basin is formed in the middle. The lowest point is at the intersection of Yima River and LAFA River, with an altitude of 294 meters.

The main rivers in Xinzhan town are Longfeng River, Laoyeling River and Minzhu River, which flow into LAFA river at 1km south of Xinzhan town.
