Chaoyang Township, Dazhu County, Dazhou City, Sichuan Province is located in the north east of Dazhu County, 11 kilometers away from Dazhu County. National Highway 318 runs through the whole area, and the township government is located next to national highway 318. Chaoyang Township borders Shiqiaopu town in the East, Dongliu Township in the west, Shuangxi Township and Wumu town in the south, Yuhua Township and pubao Township in the north, covering an area of 51.94 square kilometers. The township governs 6 administrative villages (Renshou village, Songshui village, Xianqiao village, Yulin village, Zhuyuan village and Muyu Village), 1 neighborhood committee, 58 villager groups, 14164 people (2017), and 739 hectares of cultivated land (4794.2 mu of farmland and 4834 mu of soil).

The forest area of the township is 37000 mu, and the forest vegetation is mainly subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forest and Fraxinus mandshurica. The area of Fraxinus mandshurica is 13000 mu, and the annual forestry income is more than 200000 yuan. The mineral resources are rich in coal, limestone, shale and silica sand. There are backbone enterprises such as Yuanheng coal mine with an annual output of 100000 tons, zhushiyan coal mine with an annual output of 30000 tons, Guzhu Cement Co., Ltd. with an annual output of 500000 tons of cement, 36 mining sites, 12 lime fields and 2 brick factories.

Baidao lake, the largest Wumu reservoir in Dazhu County, spans the area, with 84 boats shuttling through Baidao lake. The water transportation is very convenient.
