Huancheng Township

Huancheng township is under the jurisdiction of Wangkui county. The area under its jurisdiction is an irregular ring around Wangkui Town, so it is called Huancheng Township, Huancheng town.

After the victory of the Anti Japanese war in 1945, it was under the jurisdiction of Wangkui district. In May 1948, Lincheng district was set up from Wangkui District, and it was changed into the Second District in February 1951. In April 1956, the division of township was removed and suburban township was set up. In September 1958, it was merged with Shuanglong town and renamed Shuanglong Town People's commune. In September 1964, Shuanglong commune was set up around the city. In September 1969, Huancheng commune was abolished and merged into Wangkui commune. In November 1983, the six production brigades of Zhenglan housi in Wangkui town and Hongguang production brigade of rocket commune were set aside to restore Huancheng township. The total area of Huancheng township is 27.2 square kilometers, with 40000 mu of arable land. It mainly grows grain crops and autumn cabbage. In 1992, the total output value of township enterprises was 17.49 million yuan. The township has jurisdiction over six villages, including hongwudong, hongwuxi, Hongguang, Hongliu, Lanwu and housi. At the end of 1992, the total population of the township was 12000, including Manchu, Mongolian, Korean and other ethnic minorities. The township government is located in the north of nanwudao street in Wangkui town.
