Hongxing township is under the jurisdiction of Yongtai County, Fuzhou City, Fujian Province.

In 2017, the administrative area was 4615 hectares, with 4010 permanent residents.

Historical evolution

Guancun commune was established in 1961, renamed Hongxing commune in 1966, and changed to township in 1984. In 1997, with a population of 10000, it has jurisdiction over eight village committees: Yaoxiang, Tanyang, Guoling, Yanmen, Banwei, libing, Xizhai and Hongxing.

economic development

In 2004, the total industrial and agricultural output value of the township was 58.52 million yuan, the fiscal revenue was 344700 yuan, and the per capita net income of farmers was 3270 yuan. In 2004, an output value of 100 million yuan was created, which led nearly one third of the surplus labor force in the township to reasonably transfer to the secondary and tertiary industries. We will implement comprehensive agricultural development, develop famous and special fruits such as black plum, Japanese white phoenix peach and Zaozhong loquat, and develop the cultivation of Tieguanyin. The area of off-season vegetables planted in the township reaches 3500 mu, which enjoys a high reputation in Minqing, Fuzhou and other markets. Planting off-season vegetables has become an important income of farmers in the township. In 2004, 202 provincial road was renovated, and the town planning, old village reconstruction and new village construction were gradually improved.
