Tuqiao town

Tuqiao Town, belonging to Tongliang District of Chongqing, is located in the south of Tongliang district. It is connected with Shiyu town in the East, Yongxi town in Dazu District in the south, Lufeng town in the West and Nancheng street in the north. It is 10 kilometers away from the residence of Tongliang District People's Government, with a total area of 45.19 square kilometers.

After the first year of the Republic of China (1912), Tuqiao town belonged to the first district. In January 1994, Tuqiao Township, Yuxia Township and Xinqiao Township were merged into Tuqiao town. History of construction

After the first year of the Republic of China (1912), it belongs to the first district.

In December 1949, Tuqiao and Yulong Township belonged to the first district of Tongliang district.

In April 1953, Tuqiao was divided into three townships: Tuqiao, Xinqiao and jiushiba.

In July 1956, Tuqiao Township, Xinqiao Township and jiushiba Township were merged into Tuqiao township.

In February 1960, Tuqiao Township established Xinqiao township.

In April 1958, Tuqiao, Yulong and Xinqiao townships were transformed into management areas, belonging to the upper reaches of the commune.

In August 1959, the upstream commune was abolished and Tongguo District Office was established. The management area was changed into Tuqiao commune, Yulong commune and Xinqiao commune.

In 1961, Tuqiao commune, Yulong commune and Xinqiao commune were changed into Tuqiao Township, Yulong Township and Xinqiao Township respectively.

In June 1959, Yulong township was renamed Yuxia township.

In January 1994, Tuqiao Township, Yuxia Township and Xinqiao Township were merged into Tuqiao town.
