Chengxi town is located in the west of central Sichuan Province and the southwest edge of Chengdu Plain. It is 113 km from Chengdu in the East and 15 km from Ya'an in the West. It is located in the southwest of Mingshan city. National Highway 318 and Chengya Expressway run through the whole town and enter Chengdu, the provincial capital in the East. The only way to Ya'an in the West. Mengdingshan, a provincial scenic spot, is located in the town, covering an area of 27.8 square kilometers and 618 hectares of arable land. The town has 10 natural villages (Dagong, Weigan, Mengshan, Lihua, Huaixi, Mingya, Jinhua, Huaishu, Shuinian and Mingfeng), 62 villager groups, 3139 households and 11596 people. In 2000, the total industrial and agricultural output value of the town was 160.96 million yuan, including 12.94 million yuan of agricultural output value, 148.02 million yuan of industrial output value, 3.71 million yuan of annual fiscal revenue and 1809 yuan of per capita net income of farmers. There are 451 township enterprises in the town, with an annual total output value of 148.02 million yuan, a total income of 13172 yuan, and 4.69 million yuan of profits and taxes paid.
