Shahe Town is the seat of Jiuyuan District Party committee, district government and organs directly under the District of Baotou City, Inner Mongolia. Starting from Beijing Baotou railway in the south, National Highway 110 in the north, Donghe District in the East and youth farm in the west, national highway 210 runs through it. With convenient transportation and roads extending in all directions, it is the only way to Hohhot, Bayannaoer League and Ordos City. It has a unique geographical location and is known as the "Golden Triangle" of Baotou city.

Shahe Town is the economic, political and cultural center of Jiuyuan District, Baotou City, Inner Mongolia, with a planning area of 210000 square kilometers, six community neighborhood committees, one villagers' committee, hanqingba and youth farm, and a total population of 66800. There are 82 Township offices and institutions, including 21 municipal units and 61 district departments; 16 schools, including 3 secondary vocational schools, 3 middle schools, 3 primary schools and 7 kindergartens; 3 hospitals; and 1876 township enterprises, including 6 municipal enterprises, 2 district enterprises and 1869 township enterprises. Southeast group: five high standard residential districts have been built, including Huayuan District, Wanda District, Huangjin District, Fukang district and Jinhu district; two garden style residential districts have been built, including Jiuyuan anti-corruption culture square (covering an area of about 46867 square meters), a green food street and hatun Park, one of the ten squares in Baotou city. Northeast Group: Rongwang building, national tax building, medical college, rainbow bridge, eye hospital, etc. Southwest group: Science and Technology Park, youth farm, a new round of construction and transformation has been completed. Northwest group: the infrastructure construction of the green park has been completed, and the number of enterprises entering the park is increasing.
