Fenxi County governs towns. Sengnian commune was established in 1963 and the town was established in 1984. Huotao second class highway and sengxin highway transit. It has jurisdiction over 16 village committees, including sengnian, jianzili, Nanzhuang, Xujiazhuang, Xuejiazhuang, wayaogeta, qianxinzhuang, houxinzhuang, yangshuyuan, Lingnan, yanjiazhuang, Bandi, Duancun, Shijiagou, zhuzhulpo and beimengou. The main agricultural products are wheat, corn and cotton. Township enterprises are mainly coal mining, with an annual output of 200000 tons of raw coal.

Among the numerous tourist attractions in the three Jin Dynasty, Qixian's Qiao's courtyard and Lingshi's Wang's courtyard have become the precious relics and epitome of "Jin Merchant Culture". In the south of Shanxi Province, a little-known Shijia courtyard was found, which is the Qing Dynasty residential group in Shijiagou, Fenxi county.

"Qiaojiabao in the north, Shijiagou in the South" is a high praise of the grand momentum, ingenious design and unique style of Shijiagou folk houses in the late Qing Dynasty.

Shijia compound is located in Shijiagou village, sengnian Town, 5 kilometers southeast of Fenxi County, northwest of Huozhou City, 5 kilometers away from Dayun road. This huge building complex, founded in 1789, covers an area of more than 100000 square meters after 80 years of expansion. Different from Qiao's and Wang's compound, the landform and architectural features here are skillfully combined. Taking a broad view, the complex is located in the mountains, high in the north and low in the south, surrounded by mountains on three sides, facing the river in the south, sheltering from the wind and facing the sun. The natural layout of the complex is well arranged, row upon row, and in the shape of a ladder. It is really a natural geomantic treasure land.
