In 1956, it belonged to Guandu District and Longquan district respectively. In 1962, it set up Wulong commune, changed to Shuanglong commune in 1963, changed to office in 1984, and set up Township in 1988. In 1997, it covers an area of 73 square kilometers and has a population of 6000. It governs four administrative villages: Wulong, maichong, maiditang and Zhuangfang. In 2004, Guandu District was put under the jurisdiction of Panlong District. In 2006, it has jurisdiction over four administrative villages: Wulong, maichong, maiditang and Zhuangfang. The township government is stationed in qianweitun village. In 2009, the township was removed and the street was set up.
