Tangjia town is under the jurisdiction of Hanyuan County, Ya'an City, Sichuan Province. Tangjia town is located at the foot of huangcaogang mountain in Daxiangling mountains, 17 kilometers away from Hanyuan County.

On December 11, 2019, Sichuan Provincial People's Government approved the adjustment of administrative divisions of some towns in Ya'an City (cfzm [2019] No. 14): Hexi township was canceled and its administrative area was put under the jurisdiction of Tangjia town. Tangjia town is located at the foot of huangcaogang mountain in Daxiangling mountains, 17 kilometers away from Hanyuan County, adjacent to Jiuxiang town in the north, Fuquan town in the south, Wanli Township in the East and Hexi Township in the West.
