Tangjia town is located in the northwest of Leizhou City, Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province, adjacent to Jijia, Longmen, Beihe, Haitian and other towns. It covers an area of 192 square kilometers (in 2017), with more than 40000 mu of arable land. It has 15 administrative areas and 114 natural villages with a population of 50787 (in 2017). Tangjiawei, the seat of the town government, is 37 kilometers away from Leicheng. Agriculture is dominated by sugarcane, rice, watermelon, sericulture and peanut.

Sugarcane is a major advantage of the town, with a total output of more than 310000 tons, 8.5 tons per capita, an output value of nearly 40 million yuan, and an output value of 1000 yuan per capita, ranking first in the city. Township enterprises mainly include brick making, wine making and construction. There are Tangjia sugar factory, Tangjia freezing factory, Tangjia forest farm and some companies of torch farm and other state-owned units. Leicheng to Qishui and Kelu to Longmen pass through the town, with convenient transportation. There are many historic sites here. More than 40 tombs of the ancestors of the Tang family have been found in Xisan village, Lingjie administrative area, covering an area of more than 40 mu. The lowest rank of the man buried from the Southern Song Dynasty to the Republic of China is county captain. There is also the tomb of Wu Guodong, a Wu Jinshi in the reign of Emperor Guangxu of Qing Dynasty.
