Xinmin Town is located in Yuexi County, Sichuan Province. It covers an area of 16.11 square kilometers. The population is 9274.

On January 12, 2021, Sichuan Provincial People's Government approved Liangshan Prefecture to adjust the administrative divisions of some towns in Puge county and other seven counties (Chuanfu Civil Affairs [2021] No. 1): Datun township was abolished and its administrative area was put under the jurisdiction of Xinmin Town, and the people's Government of Xinmin town was stationed at No. 8, Zhengfu lane, Xinmin village.

Xinmin Town is located in the north of Yuexi County, bordering Datun Township in the south, wayan Township in the west, Banqiao Township in the north, Maoershan in the East and Naituo town in the East, covering an area of 16.11 square kilometers. It governs six natural villages, including Xinmin, Xinshi, Xinjian, Dazhai, Cailin and Wufu, and 36 villager groups, with a total of 2264 households and 10879 people. The highest altitude of anjiabuzi on the west side of the town is 2045 meters, and the lowest one is 1650 meters. The relative elevation difference is 395 meters. The annual average temperature is 13.3 ℃, the frost free period is 247 days, and the annual rainfall is 1113 mm. The soil is mainly alluvial soil, alluvial yellow mud and yellow brown soil. It mainly produces rice, corn, potato and wheat, with 15062 mu of arable land. (the area of Xiguan is 5906.8 mu, including 3994.8 mu of farmland and 1912 mu of land).
