Liushu town

Liushu town is located in the east of Yingkou City and the south of Laobian District, 40 ° 30 N and 122 ° 25 E. It is 5 kilometers wide from east to west and 14 kilometers long from north to south, with a total area of 64 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 18 administrative villages including Dongliu village, Xiliu village, Qianshan village, Houshan village, Shihui village, beidianzi village, Xiaoqiao village, Xiaoping village, Xiaobian village, xiangluzhuang village, donggangzi village, Xigangzi village, qiangangzi village, Taipingshan village, Laijia village, dongdapingshan village, xidapingshan village and Niejia Village (in 2019). The town government is located in Dongliu village, 15 kilometers away from the center of Yingkou and 9 kilometers away from the old side of the district government. The terrain is flat, with an average altitude of 4 meters.

The origin of place names

In the early Qing Dynasty, the surnames Wang and Guo moved from Dengzhou Prefecture in Shandong Province to settle here. Because there were two willows in the east of their home, they were named Liushutun. The town got its name from its location.

Historical evolution

Qing Guangxu 34 years belong to GAIPING county. In the first year of Xuantong, it was under the jurisdiction of Yingkou Zhili hall. In 1913, Yingkou Zhili hall was changed into Yingkou county. in 1922, it was established in districts and villages. in July 1935, the system of big village (divided into main village and sub Village) was implemented. In 1937, it belonged to Yingkou City. In 1938, it belonged to Haicheng county and GAIPING county respectively. In 1946, it belonged to Yingkou county. Liushu township was established in 1956, and was assigned to the Fifth District of Yingkou City in August of the same year (changed to the suburb of Yingkou City in September). In June 1961, it was changed into willow commune. In August 1983, it was changed into Liushu township. changed to Liushu town in April 1985. In 1996, it covers an area of 130 square kilometers and has a population of 25000. It governs 24 administrative villages including caojia, Laijia, Lijia, Taiping, Heping, Qiangang, Donggang, Xigang, Xianglu, Niejia, Xiaobian, Dongda, Xida, Cuijia, Duanjia, Xiaoping, Niujia, Dongliu, Xiliu, Xiaoqiao, Huishi, Beidian, Qianshan and Houshan. Zhuanglin highway (G305), Yingda highway, Shangbo highway and Yingliu highway pass through. Yingbin road leads to Yingkou Lanqi airport. Liushu town is only 10 minutes away from Yingkou Lanqi airport.
