Taiping Township is located in the southern border of Kang County, 109 kilometers away from the county. The northeast is adjacent to Yangba Town, Ningqiang County of Shaanxi Province in the South and Yuhe township of Wudu in the West. It covers an area of 145.7 square kilometers. Historical evolution

Before the founding of the people's Republic of China, it was under the jurisdiction of Trojan horse Township in Wudu County. At the beginning of the founding of the people's Republic of China, it was Taiping Township, Trojan Horse District, Wudu County. In 1957, Taiping Township was transferred to Kang County. In 1958, it was under the jurisdiction of Yangba commune, and in 1961, it was divided into Taiping commune. Since 1983, it has been changed to township. Now it has jurisdiction over 6 village committees, including 125 natural villages, including yinbazi, Weizigou, tianbali, Duba, Kejia and Erping.

Nature and economy

The terrain is high in the northwest and low in the southeast, forming a triangular shape. There are many mountains and rivers. There are youfanggou River in the East and Kejia River in the West. The villages in the two river basins are dense. The highest altitude is 2406 meters and the lowest is 580 meters. It is one of the bases for producing Auricularia auricula and Auricularia auricula in Kangnan forestry area with mild climate, abundant rainfall, dense forest and mainly Cyclobalanopsis glauca. The area of cultivated land is 5536 mu, including 5312 mu of mountainous area. The soil is mostly black loess and big black soil. Taiping chicken produced in kejiahe, weighing 4-5kg, is a local specialty with excellent variety and can be used for both meat and eggs. There are golden monkeys, white monkeys and other rare animals in the forest.
