About the author

Deng Zhongxia (1894-1933) was born in Yizhang, Hunan Province. One of the early leaders of the Communist Party of China and the Chinese workers' movement. During the May 4th movement, he accepted Marxism Leninism and then actively engaged in the workers' movement. In March 1920, he initiated and participated in the Research Society of Marxist theory, and later became a member of the early organization of the Communist Party of China in Beijing. At the beginning of 1921, Changxindian labor Tutorial school was founded. In November, the progressive publication "labor voice" was published to publicize Marxism among workers. After the establishment of the Secretary Department of China's labor mix, he was responsible for the work of the northern ministry. In May 1922, he attended the first National Labor Conference and later served as the director of the Secretary Department of China's labor mix. In July, he was elected as a member of the CPC Central Committee at the second National Congress of the CPC. He once served as the director of the Secretary Department of the Chinese labor union, the organization Minister of the Central Committee of the Chinese Socialist Youth League, the executive member of the all China Federation of trade unions, the Secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, the Secretary of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee, the international representative of the all China Federation of trade unions in red, the executive member of the red Trade Union International, and the member of the CPC Hunan Hubei Provincial Committee. He was arrested in Shanghai in May 1933 and killed by Kuomintang reactionaries in Yuhuatai, Nanjing in October. His posthumous works include a brief history of the Chinese workers' movement.
