Ganhe town is located in the northwest of Fuyi District, Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province. It is adjacent to Laodian town and Yuchan street in the East and Southeast, Zuan town in the South and southwest, Shangcun town in Zhouzhi County in the West and northwest, and fuzhai town in Xingping City of Xianyang city across the Weihe River in the north and northeast, with a total area of 33.37 square kilometers.

Historical evolution

The origin of place names

It is said that there is a sweet spring beside the river, and the villages and towns are named after water. Ganquan Town was once named in song and Yuan Dynasties, and Ganhe town was named in Ming and Qing Dynasties because it was located on the West Bank of Ganhe river.

History of construction

Ganhe town was established before Song Dynasty. It was used in Ming and Qing Dynasties.

After the first year of the Republic of China (1912), it was under the jurisdiction of Zhou Zhishang village.

After 1949, it was Ganhe township of Zhouzhi County.

In January 1958, Ganhe Township, together with Qingyang and Yong'an townships, was reorganized in Huxian County, and in August it was under the jurisdiction of Laodian commune.

In 1961, Ganhe commune was established.

In 1984, Ganhe township was established.
