Nanyang Township
Nanyang Township is located 38 kilometers northeast of Cangxi County, bordering Baiyi town and Qiping town in the East, Fangshan Township of Langzhong City in the south, Jinbi Township, Zhangwang Township and Houma town in the west, Denggao Township across the Songjiang River in the north. At the end of the Yuan Dynasty, a rich family surnamed Han, in order to suppress the anti yuan peasant army, followed the example of Nanyang in Henan Province to recruit soldiers and set up the "maohulu wanhufu", which was called "Nanyang County". Before 1933, it belonged to Yuanba town; after June, it belonged to the Soviet of Taiying township; after May 1935, it belonged to Qiping (Qibai) Township, the Second District of Cangxi County. Nanyang Township was established in 1951, belonging to the Fifth District of Cangxi County (Qiping District); it was changed into Nanyang people's commune in 1958, renamed Nanyang Township in 1984, merged into Qiping town in 1992, and separated into separate townships in 1997. In 2000, it covers an area of 28.75 square kilometers and has jurisdiction over 13 villages of pengjialiang, yangjiaqiao, Tanjiahe, Baoshan, Wanguan, Sanjiang, Yanjing, simianzhai, Fanjiashan, Xiufeng, Baoquan, liugushu and Liangfeng, with 3216 households and 12073 people. The township has 10644 mu of cultivated land. It was incorporated into Qiping town again in 2005.
Nanyang Township was established by Qiping town in September 1997. The township office is located 38 kilometers northeast of the county, bordering Baiyi town and Qiping town in the East, Fangshan Township of Langzhong City in the south, Jinbi Township, Zhangwang Township and Houma town in the west, and Denggao Township across the Songjiang River in the north. In 2000, it covers an area of 28.75 square kilometers and has jurisdiction over 13 villages of pengjialiang, yangjiaqiao, Tanjiahe, Baoshan, Wanguan, Sanjiang, Yanjing, simianzhai, Fanjiashan, Xiufeng, Baoquan, liugushu and Liangfeng, with 3216 households and 12073 people, including 6001 women and 315 non-agricultural population. The township has 10644 mu of cultivated land, 4 small (2) reservoirs, 69 shanpingtang, 210 micro pools, 6 electric irrigation stations, with a total water storage capacity of 1.39 million cubic meters and an effective irrigation area of 6900 mu.
