Qianshan township is located in the north of Dechang County, with a Yue Township in the East, Ma'an Township in the west, Dezhou town in the South and AQI Township in Xichang in the north, covering an area of 71 square kilometers. It governs 24 villager groups in 3 villages, including Xiaogou, Guanghui and Malu, with a population of 2821.

The township is high in the southwest and low in the northeast. The altitude of lanhuangqing peak is 3324 meters, and that of huangjiaba is 1600 meters. The forest coverage rate was 54.61%. The annual average temperature of low mountain is 17.2 ℃. Agricultural production of rice, corn, local specialties are fungus, walnut, pepper. There are many grasslands, which are suitable for grazing. In recent years, with the adjustment of agricultural industrial structure, flue-cured tobacco planting has been vigorously developed, which has become the main economic pillar industry of the township. The township government is now stationed in Miaoshan.
