Longma Township

Longma township is located in the southwest of Hongdong County, 10 kilometers away from the county. It is adjacent to Xincun Township in the East, zuomu Township in the west, Yaodu District in the South and Wan'an town in the north.

The township governs 25 administrative villages, 32 natural villages and 5921 households. All of them are Han nationality. Township government in xilongma village.

Historical evolution

In 1958, when the commune was transformed, it was called Bailong commune together with Baishi commune. In 1960, it was divided and became a township in April 1984.

Economic situation

The whole township is high in the West and low in the East, 60% of which belongs to the hilly area under Qinglong mountain, and the rest is Pingchuan. The traffic is convenient. Hong (Dong) Jing (Village) highway enters from Xincun township to Jing Village of this township. Hong (Dong) Yu (LI) highway enters zuomu Township through this township. Qiyi canal, a large-scale water conservancy project built in 1958, runs through the whole Township from north to South and flows into Yaodu District from south. Yulijian river originates from Xishan and runs through the whole Township from west to East. Every rainy season, the coastal villages can use the flood to irrigate the land. The mountainous area in the west of the township is rich in weathered coal, gypsum and other minerals. The administrative area of the township is 5815 hectares, with a total cultivated area of 1819 hectares. The main crops are wheat, corn, coarse cereals, potato and cotton. In terms of township enterprises, the main enterprises are Tongsheng coking company, ceramic factory, stone factory and other enterprises. In terms of culture, education and health, there are 24 schools in the town, 1 health center and health centers in all villages.
