Hetou township is located between 98 ° 35 '- 98 ° 33' e and 24 ° 29 '- 2442' n, belonging to subtropical plateau climate. In the west of the county, 29 kilometers away from Longling, the township has a total land area of 156 square kilometers. The township has 5 villagers' committees and 81 villagers' groups, including 5 Achang villagers' groups. It is the only Achang inhabited area in Baoshan City. Historical overview

The predecessor of Hetou township is Xihe township. In October 1949, Xihe Township People's government was established under the jurisdiction of ZhuangQiao District, Cixi County. In July 1950, Xihe township was divided into two townships, Hetou and Xigu, and the people's Government of Xihe Township and Xigu Township were established; in August 1954, it was transferred to Zhenhai County; in October, it was subordinate to the newly built camel district. In February 1956, Hetou Township and Xigu Township were merged to establish Xihe Township People's Committee with a general Party branch. In October 1958, the counties and cities were merged to implement communization, and Xihe and Hetou brigades (administrative areas) were established. In October 1961, the Xihe and Hetou brigades merged to establish the Xihe people's commune management committee. In June 1962, it was divided into Xihe commune and Hetou commune; in October 1966, Xihe commune was merged into Hetou commune. in June 1968, the Revolutionary Committee of Hetou people's commune was established to implement "unified" leadership, and the Party committee was rebuilt in May 1970. In December 1980, the commune reform committee was abolished and the commune management committee was established. In October 1983, the commune was cancelled and the people's Government of Hetou township was established.
