History of construction
In August 1949, Qingyuan town was established.
In January 1950, shengqingyuan district.
In August 1956, the district was withdrawn and the township was reduced to Chengchuan township.
In September 1958, when the commune was transformed, it was Chengchuan brigade of Weiyuan satellite commune.
In December 1958, Weiyuan County was abolished and put under Longxi County.
After the restoration of Weiyuan County in December 1962, Chengguan commune was established.
In July 1964, it was renamed Qingyuan commune.
In December 1965, Chengguan commune was rebuilt.
In July 1981, it was renamed Qingyuan commune.
In July 1983, Qingyuan town was changed.
