Nianzhang town

Nianzhang town is located at the northernmost end of Xiaxian County, 20 kilometers away from Xiaxian county. It is adjacent to Wenxi County in the north and Yuanqu County in the East. The terrain is high in the northeast and low in the southwest. Qinglong river passes through from north to south. It is located at the circular junction of Xiahou road and Zhongxin road. It gets its name because of its geographical location on the Bank of Qinglong River and the terrain like the palm of a person.

Nianzhang town is a pure agricultural town in mid mountain area, which was separated from the original nianzhang town in 2000 with the approval of higher authorities. It has 11 administrative villages (6 on the mountain and 5 below the mountain) and 34 natural villages with a permanent population of 12165 (2017). The land area is 52.95 square kilometers, and the cultivated land area is 35000 mu.

Nianzhang town has three national cultural sites (Dongxiafeng cultural site, cuijiahe Eastern Zhou tombs and Shangfeng Notre Dame Temple), and one provincial cultural site (cuijiahe site). In 2014, it was awarded national civilized town, provincial garden town and provincial health town.

In April 2004, approved by the higher authorities, the original nianzhang town was divided into two and separated into a small town. XIAPEI highway (Xiaxian Wenxi peishe) runs through the north and south, with convenient transportation.

Construction and development

The whole town has developed more than 750 mu of "7315" solar greenhouse, more than 4000 mu of three cherry pepper and more than 6000 mu of high-quality and high-yield cotton. In particular, since the implementation of the policy of returning farmland to forest, the town Party committee and government have implemented the project of "ten thousand mu pepper demonstration garden" in qianshanyan area, which has changed the ecological environment and increased farmers' income. a group of people from the Party committee and government of the town led the whole town to focus on attracting investment, developing private enterprises, adjusting the industrial structure and developing facility agriculture, and found a way to prosper the town and enrich the people. Zaoan Iron Mine Co., Ltd., with an investment of nearly 10 million yuan, was settled in nianzhang and officially put into operation in August 2004. Zhonglin Forest Industry Co., Ltd. was newly established. The plastic products of Zhenzhen plastic factory were rated as a national famous brand in 2002.

Culture, education and health

In the construction of culture, education and health, the whole town has newly built the teaching building of nianzhang junior high school, the student apartment building and the outpatient building of the town health center, which has completely changed the problem of students' difficulty in going to school and seeking medical treatment. In terms of road construction, more than 90% of the town's villages have oil roads. In particular, the road widening and oil spreading in tangmagou village, the village of sanpodi, has completely changed the present situation that people in mountainous areas are hard to walk on "sunny days covered with soil and rainy days covered with mud".

Cultural sites

Dongxiafeng site is located on the platform of the North Bank of Qinglong River in Dongxiafeng village, nianzhang Town, Xiaxian County, Shanxi Province. It is a typical site in southern Shanxi during the Xia and Shang Dynasties. Its age is from the 19th century BC to the 16th century BC. The total area of the site is about 250000 square meters, of which Dongxiafeng type remains and Erligang culture period remains are the most important. In Dongxiafeng type period, there are two layers of grooves inside and outside, the plane is in a zigzag shape, and cave houses and storage rooms are found on the wall of the groove. City sites were found in Erligang period. A group of orderly circular buildings were found in the southwest corner of the city. The relics found include pottery, bone, bronze, stone and so on. The discovery and excavation of Dongxiafeng site is of great significance to the study of the cultural features of southern Shanxi in the Xia Dynasty, and will contribute to the study of the formation and development of ancient Chinese cities and the cultural changes of Xia and Shang Dynasties.
