Xinhe Town

Xinhe Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Pizhou City, Jiangsu Province, is located in the southeast of Pizhou City, the east of Xuzhou City, and the northwest Bank of Luoma Lake. It is about 17 kilometers away from the county government, with a total area of 118 square kilometers. It governs 19 administrative villages, and the town government is located in Xinhe village. Xinhe Town belongs to temperate monsoon climate, the territory is a plain depression, the town is located in the huangdunhu flood detention area. By the end of 2018, the population was 60100.

Because the town government in Xinhe village, named Xinhe Town. The name of Xinhe comes from a river named Xintang River in the territory, which means exquisite. In 2000, Xinhe Town and Xinji Township were abolished and a new Xinhe Town was established, with the former administrative region of Xinhe Town and Xinji township as the administrative region of Xinhe Town. There are four provincial roads, including 250 provincial road, 505 provincial road, 344 provincial road and 270 provincial road, passing through the territory. The central canal runs through the north and south, with convenient water and land transportation. Xinhe Town is a provincial characteristic agricultural town. It mainly grows wheat, rice and garlic. The rice is listed as green and pollution-free agricultural products in Jiangsu Province, and the garlic is exported to Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai.

History of construction

Xinhe Town

In 1937, Xinhe district was under the jurisdiction of Pisan District, which was called Furen township.

In the thirtieth year of the Republic of China (1941), a revolutionary regime was established, known as Huwei township.

In 1946, after "withdrawing from the north", it was restored to Furen township.

In 1948, it was changed to Huwei township.

In 1949, it belonged to Huwei Township and Xiaojie township of pisui county.

In 1953, it was a mountainous area.

In 1957, 10 senior social organizations merged to establish Huwei township.

In 1958, Huwei people's commune was changed.

The former administrative region of Xinhe Town and Xinji township was the administrative region of Xinhe Town, and the government of Xinhe Town was stationed in Xinhe village. The administrative area of Xinhe Town is about 118 square kilometers, with jurisdiction over 32 administrative villages.

In 2001, the village level administrative region was adjusted, and 32 administrative villages were merged into 19 administrative villages.

Xinhe Town is located in the southeast of Pizhou City. It is a marginal town of Pizhou City. It is located at the junction of Pizhou City, Xinyi City, Suining County and Suqian City. The town coordinates are about 117 ° 99 ′ 97 ″ E and 34 ° 19 ′ 07 ″ n. Xinhe Town is adjacent to Yunhe street in the north, Gupi town of Suining County and Huangdun town of Hubin New District in the south, Balu town in the west, Huangdun Lake in the East and yaowan town of Xinyi City across the lake. The town seat is about 17 kilometers away from the northwest county seat. The town is long from north to South and narrow from east to west, covering an area of 118 square kilometers.

Xinhe Town has a temperate monsoon climate. It is characterized by dry and windy in spring, hot and rainy in summer, dry and rainless in autumn, cold and dry in winter. The average annual rainfall is about 900 mm, and the distribution of precipitation is uneven. About 50% of the rainfall is concentrated in June to August, and the snowfall is mainly concentrated in January, February and December.

Xinhe Town is a natural disaster prone area, with the most serious flood. In history, Xinhe Town has been flooded all year round, resulting in crop failure. At the same time, Xinhe Town is located in the flood detention area of Huangdun Lake. When the water level of Luoma Lake is higher than 24.5 meters, it is predicted that the water level will rise. When the water level reaches 25.5 meters, the flood detention area of Huangdun Lake will be ready. At that time, only Huangdun Lake levee and Xuhong River levee will be exposed in this area, and other areas will be submerged.
