On February 20, 2011, the provincial poverty alleviation ceremony was held, bordering on Wuyang county and Wuyang town.

Xindian has convenient transportation. Provincial highway Pingtong highway, county highway Hongxin line and Yewu railway pass through the area. There are the ruins of the great wall of Chu, known as the "father of the Great Wall", which was built no later than the Warring States period; the maorenchan temple, which was built in the early Tang Dynasty; the ancient ginkgo trees with four generations in the same hall; and the Jinggang bamboo, which is known as the "No.1 garden of bamboo in northern China". There are more than 10 large and small reservoirs in the territory. Ganjiang River runs from east to west, with abundant water resources and pleasant climate. Wangfu mountain, as a holy land of Taoism with dense vegetation, is the birthplace of the Ninth Army of the Chinese Red Army of workers and peasants. It was designated as a Provincial Park in 2005. Yanshan Reservoir, as the largest reservoir invested since the founding of the people's Republic of China in Henan Province, has its main dam in Xindian. In 2009, it was rated as one of the top ten most beautiful lakes in Henan Province. Now it has become the main ecotourism base of Pingdingshan. In recent years, Xindian town has invested more than 3 million yuan in the construction of Wangfushan scenic spot, more than 2 million yuan in the construction of the road from Wangfushan to Yanshan Reservoir, more than 4 million yuan in the construction of tongshuzhuang new village with Hui style, and more than 20 million yuan in the construction of biangou and zhangsitan new villages, which has become the highlight of the new rural construction in the county.
