Dongshan street is a street under the jurisdiction of Yuexiu District, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, China. Regional overview

The jurisdiction area starts from Guangzhou avenue to Tianhe District in the East, reaches the North Bank of the Pearl River in the South and faces Ersha Island in the middle of the river across the river, borders Shuqian Road, Guigang road and Dongshan street to Dadong street and Baiyun Street in the west, and connects with Nonglin street and meihuacun street in the north. There are 13 neighborhood committees, namely, new Hepu, de an, Si Yi, Xiao Dong Yuan, happiness, Wuyang north, Wuyang East, Wuyang south, Mingyue, DDAO north, dashodan and Yue Jing, with 23561 residents, 76678 registered residence population and 8532 floating population. Renamed

In the planning adjustment of Guangzhou in 2005, Dongshan District became the name of administrative region, which made many Guangzhou people feel sorry.

In March 2009, members of the general branch committee of Yuexiu District of Minjin put forward "proposal on renaming Donghu street as Dongshan Street", proposing to change "Donghu Street" into "Dongshan Street", saying that it is conducive to inheriting Dongshan's history and culture and highlighting Dongshan's humanistic customs. On the other hand, it also meets the needs of citizens to recall and reproduce Dongshan's culture. In July, during the household survey of Donghu street, the staff of the neighborhood committee distributed a consultation form to the residents to change "Donghu Street" into "Dongshan Street". The survey results showed that more than half of the residents agreed.

On December 27, 2010, with the approval of Guangzhou Municipal People's government, "Donghu Street" was renamed "Dongshan Street".

Main responsibilities

4. Responsible for community construction and management, actively carry out community services, vigorously set up social welfare undertakings, mobilize and organize community members to carry out all kinds of community public welfare activities; responsible for supporting the army and giving preferential treatment to their families, social relief, social welfare, community culture, popular science, sports, education, etc.

5. Develop the street economy, manage the state-owned assets and collective assets of the street, provide talents, science and technology, information and other services for the street economic organizations, promote the development of the street economy and maintain the market economic order by economic, legal and necessary administrative means.
