In 1949, yangjiaqiao Township belonged to Yingli District of Jianping County.
In 1953, yangjiaqiao township was established.
In September 1958, it belonged to Diantou commune of Pingshan County.
In 1961, Yang Jiaqiao commune was established.
In 1983, it was changed to yangjiaqiao township.
In 1988, yangjiaqiao Township, Diantou Township and Daping Township were merged into yangjiaqiao township.
