Daying Town

Daying, formerly known as dayingzi, was named Huiying in ancient times. Located in the southwest of Yongqiao District, Suzhou City, Suixi in the west, Huaiyuan in the south, HeXu expressway runs through the north and south, which is the South Gate of Suzhou city.

Brief introduction of villages and towns

According to the eighth volume of historical records, the eighth chapter of Gaozu's Chronicle, it is written that "in the eleventh year, in autumn and July, King qinbufan of Huainan joined King Liu Jiadi of Jing in the East, crossed Huaihe in the north, and the king of Chu joined Xue. Gaozu attacked it. Li Zichang was the king of Huainan. In October of the 12th year, Gaozu had already attacked the Bujun Huiyu and ordered other generals to pursue him. Among them, "Huiyu" is today's camp. Liubang jiaoluotai remains in the town, which is still magnificent after repair. Chen Sheng, Wu Guang peasant uprising, cuxia battle of Chu and Han Dynasty, Liu Bang's defeat of Wang yingbu in Huainan, and shuangdui bloody battle of Huaihai battle all involved this area or surrounding areas.

Daying was designated as one of the 16 districts in Suxian County in 1987. It governs Gengwan, Daying, Chenli, Fangdian and Yongzhen. In 1992, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged. It was divided into two parts and separated from Yongzhen. Gengwan, Chenli and Daying were merged to establish the present Daying Town. In August 2008, the original 16 administrative villages were merged into 7 administrative villages, with a total of 8912 households, an agricultural population of nearly 40000, an area of 98 square kilometers, and a cultivated land area of 85000 mu.

Daying has a long history and rich cultural heritage. For thousands of years, Daying has been rich in peanuts, high-quality tobacco leaves, cotton and seedless watermelon. It is also popular throughout the country. There is no pollution in Daying. Grain, oil and other agricultural products are green food.

The Party committee and government of Daying Town attach great importance to the adjustment of agricultural industrial structure and focus on the development of modern agriculture. At present, the development situation of agricultural industrialization in Daying Town is gratifying. Nearly 3000 mu of pollution-free and rain proof grapes have been planted in succession, and a number of professional grape planting cooperatives have been established, with an average net income of more than 10000 yuan per mu. Daying Town of 1000 mu of high-quality grape rain shelter cultivation has begun to take shape, higher income, distinctive characteristics, become a bright spot of agricultural development in our town.

At present, the new rural construction in Daying is in active progress.

Honors

In June 2020, it was awarded the title of "the fifth civilized village in Anhui Province".

In November 2020, it was rated as the sixth national civilized village.
