Weizhou

Weizhou town is located in the northeast of Wenchuan County. It has 12 villages and 2 neighborhood committees with a total population of 26907 (2017) and a total area of 134.28 square kilometers. The town is a well-known arid valley in the upper reaches of Minjiang River, with crisscross gullies, scattered mountains, dry climate and sparse vegetation. The city is surrounded by mountains on all sides, weiding mountain in the East, Yulei mountain and Jiangwei mountain in the southeast, Yanglong mountain in the West and Longshan (buwa mountain) in the north. Zagunao River and Minjiang River meet at the bridge ends of baoziguan ridge. Qiangzhai villages are distributed along rivers and mountains Mountains on both sides.

On December 18, 2019, Sichuan Provincial People's Government approved Aba Prefecture to adjust the administrative divisions of some towns and townships in 10 counties (cities), including malkang city (Chuanfu Civil Administration [2019] No. 22): Yanmen town was abolished and its administrative area was put under the jurisdiction of Weizhou Town, and Weizhou Town People's civil administration was stationed at No. 8 East Street.
