On June 17, 2015, with the approval of the Department of civil affairs of Sichuan Province, Taiping Township was renamed Taiping town. On June 21, Taiping town held a grand and formal awarding ceremony. in December 2019, Taiping town will be abolished and its administrative area will be put under the jurisdiction of Zhongxing town. The people's Government of Zhongxing town will be stationed at No.1 Zhengxin street.
