Kaiganqi Township, subordinate to Kuitun city, Yili Kazak Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is located in the east of Kuitun city, bordering bortong ancient pasture in Shawan County in the East, national highway 312 in the south, No.131 regiment of the seventh agricultural division in the West and Shawan County in the north, with a total administrative area of 476 square kilometers.
In November 1999, kaiganqi township was established. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population in dry Qi township was 1551. In 2019, kaiganqi Township governs four administrative villages.

Kaiganqi township is located in the front of the piedmont alluvial and proluvial inclined plain, about 50 kilometers south of the Tianshan Mountains, with an altitude of 450-530 meters. The terrain is high in the South and low in the north, high in the East and low in the West. The East-West gradient is 3 ‰ - 5 ‰, the North-South gradient is 13 ‰ - 15 ‰ in the south of the eastern suburb highway, and 9 ‰ in the north of the eastern suburb highway. Kaiganqi township is still located in the Piedmont depression of Tianshan Mountain. According to the formation reasons, its landforms can be divided into four categories: accumulation landform, denudation accumulation landform, erosion accumulation landform and erosion tectonic landform.

The groundwater is mainly supplied by precipitation infiltration and river bed leakage.
