Alager Township, belonging to Bachu County, Kashgar Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is located in the southwest of Bachu county. It is connected with aksak Marel Township in the East, Maigaiti County in the south, Selibuya town in the west, anakule Township and Jiashi County in the north, 77 kilometers away from Bachu County, with a total area of 362.07 square kilometers.
In 1759, a military platform was set up in the area of alager Township, which was called Sitai or sitaizhuang. In 1984, it was changed from alager commune to alager township. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population of the village was 32005. In 2019, rural alager governs 20 administrative villages, and the people's government is stationed in zihuatale village.

History of construction
In 1759, a military platform was set up in the territory of the Qing Dynasty. It is also called Sitai or sitaizhuang because it is the fourth platform from Yeerqiang to Aksu. In the late Qing Dynasty, it was under the jurisdiction of shangwutaizhuang.
In 1938, it was one of 21 villages in Bachu county. In 1941, it was a pro Soviet area. In 1943, it was under the control of Limin township.
In 1950, it belonged to Selibuya district.
In 1960, six villages in the eastern half were assigned to Selibuya district.
In 1971, alager commune was established from Dongfanghong commune.
In 1984, alager commune was transformed into alager township.
