Aketamu Township, belonging to Zepu County, Kashgar Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is located in the southwest of Zepu county. It is connected with Saili Township in the East, kuiybage Township in the south, zirepxiati Township in Shache County in the West and ayikule Township in the north, with a total area of 51.07 square kilometers.
In 1950, aketamu Township and kuiybage Township belong to the same district of Yecheng County; in 1984, aketamu commune was transformed into aketamu township. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population of Akta Mu township was 7316. In 2019, 9 administrative villages are under the jurisdiction of aketamu Township, and the people's government is stationed in aketamu village. In 2018, there were 2 industrial enterprises and 8 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters in aketamu township.
In September 2018, aketamu township was selected into the demonstration construction list of strong agricultural towns.
History of construction
In 1950, it was a district of Yecheng county together with Kuiyi bage township.
In 1954, it was divided into ten districts.
In March 1955, it was assigned to Zepu county and divided into five districts.
In 1958, it merged with kuiy bage township to build Dongfeng commune.
In 1961, eight brigades were set up from kuibag commune to form aktamu commune.
In 1968, it was renamed Dongfanghong commune.
In 1969, Dongfanghong commune was renamed eight commune.
In 1978, aktamu commune was restored.
In 1984, aketamu commune was transformed into aketamu township.

In 2011, aktam township has 8 administrative villages, including aktam, upper azatam, zhouyiqierik, kuletukeirik, aqiya, bashtozakqi, otulatozakqi and ayagetuozakqi, and 33 villager groups.
In 2019, aktam Township governs nine administrative villages: bagawati village, kuoyiquirike village, kuoletuke Airike village, aqikya village, aktam village, bashtozakeqi village, otulatozakeqi village, ayagetuozakeqi village and qiaqa village. The people's government is located in aktam village.
