Hudi Township
Hudi township is located in the east of Qinshui County, Shanxi Province, west of Laomaling, east of Gaoping City, west of DuanShi Town, north of Guxian Township, south of Zezhou County, with a total area of 91.5 square kilometers. Within the territory of convenient transportation, provincial highway Ping Qu road through the territory, to the East can reach Gaoping, 15 kilometers west is Duanshi town. Laomaling, 1347 meters above sea level, is the east gate of Qinshui. It has been a military strategic place for generations. Now it has jurisdiction over 16 villages, 80 natural villages, 85 villager groups, 10435 permanent residents (in 2017), and 1253 hectares of cultivated land. The township government is located in Hudi village, 59 kilometers away from the county seat.
Evolution of organizational system
In January 2001, the former Fanzhuang township was merged into Hudi Township, which had jurisdiction over 22 villages. In 2002, Huang Shagou and Pangzhuang villages were merged into Hudi village, Su Jiazhuang village into Liangping village, hongtuao village into Yuxi village, Huangping village into Wanghui village, and Pochi village into bochi village.
Local specialties
Local specialties are red fruit and green onion. Red fruit is popular both inside and outside the province for its large size, small seed, thin skin and sweet taste. In the 1980s, the original red fruit area of Fanzhuang township was more than 340 hectares, with a per capita income of 1000 yuan in the best years. In the 1990s, the price of red fruit continued to fall, and the planting area continued to decline year by year. Scallion is a traditional product, mostly sheep horn scallion, big head, white long, spicy flavor. In 2003, the planting area was 150 hectares, the yield was 5113 tons, the average household weight was 1751 kg, and the average per capita weight was 482 kg. It was the first township of Onion Production in the county.
Economic overview
Hudi township has three leading industries of sericulture, scallion, forest and fruit. Up to now, the township has realized 100 standardized shed silkworm rearing buildings, 400 sets of plastic folding and cocooning, with an annual silkworm rearing of 1900 pieces and a cocoon production of 190000 Jin. There are more than 2000 households and 5000 people engaged in silkworm rearing in the township. The scallion is mostly yangjiaocong, with big head, long white and spicy taste. The planting area is more than 2000 mu. The forest and fruit industry used to be dominated by red fruits, but the area has been decreasing year by year in recent years. Animal husbandry has also developed in recent years. There are 3 sheep raising parks, 5 large sheep raising households, 4528 sheep stocks and 5 chicken farms in the township, with a total of 12204 chickens.

All 16 administrative villages in Hudi township have paved concrete roads, with a total mileage of more than 110 kilometers. Greening has been carried out on both sides of the road. The streets of 12 villages have been hardened, and more than 100 street lamps have been installed on the main streets of four villages for lighting. In the aspect of "four reforms", more than 500 toilets, circles and stoves have been changed in the township, and five water supplies have been improved. In the aspect of "five ones", all 16 villages have set up village level health centers, 10 convenient chain stores and 10 new leisure places for farmers.
development planning
In the master plan, we plan a 20 kilometer Coal Electric Industrial Park from Lizhuang to laofen gully, which borders Gaoping. 4 million tons of Hudi coal industry has now laid the foundation and is expected to start construction. 2.4 million tons of Yuxi coal mine is under intense construction. PetroChina, Lanyan, etc. have built 429 gas wells in Hudi, 10 of which are under construction. All the open areas along the road are included in the park, and are planned as industrial land and living land, leaving enough space for the future development of Hudi.
