Balikun Town, subordinate to Balikun Kazakh Autonomous County, Hami City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is located in the county seat of Balikun Kazakh Autonomous County, adjacent to shirenzi Township in the East, Balikun mountain in the east of Tianshan Mountain in the south, Huayuan Township in the West and Balikun prairie in the north. The area is 16.48 square kilometers. In 2018, 13289 people registered residence.

Qianlong 24 years (1759), set up Balikun Zhili hall. In 1950, Chengguan District was established. In 1956, the district was withdrawn and transformed into a town. In 1961, the urban people's commune was established. In 1975, Balikun town was established. As of October 2019, Barkol town has four communities under its jurisdiction.
