Historical evolution
Dazhanchang town is a section of the ancient Silk Road. It is an important traffic route from the Central Plains to the frontier fortress. In ancient times, there were often caravans. The historical origin of its place name can be traced back to the fifth year of Yuanfeng in Song Dynasty. It used to be a place with dense forests and long grass. Later, due to the wars and logging in the past dynasties, and the constant invasion of the Tengger Desert, the land gradually became desertification. People say that "there are no birds in the sky, no grass on the ground, and the wind blows, the sand and the stone run" is a true portrayal of the features of the battlefield 30 years ago.
Since 1983, the great battlefield has been constructed as an immigrant Diaozhuang, especially since the handover of territorial management, Zhongning county has increased the infrastructure construction of the great battlefield, made great progress in various social undertakings, and accelerated the pace of economic construction. Especially under the strong guarantee of various policies for benefiting the people in the Autonomous Region, the great battlefield has become the largest irrigation area for pumping the Yellow River, the largest labor export Township, and the second wolfberry in Zhongning county Daxiang has also become the largest distribution center of agricultural and livestock products in the surrounding areas.
As a Diaozhuang immigrant Town, Dazhanchang town has developed from the original immigrant households from Guyuan, Xiji and other places to people from 14 provinces, autonomous regions, 58 counties and cities living together. In the past, the Gobi desert is now a characteristic industry with fertile land, forest network, agriculture, livestock and forestry as the main line of development, and wolfberry, red dates, apples, selenium sand melon as the main industry, which makes the people in the big battlefield completely get rid of the hat of poverty.

In 2000, the two townships of Dazhan and Majialiang were under the jurisdiction of Zhongning county.
