Tiegai Township, belonging to Gonghe County, Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, is located in the south of Gonghe County, bordering the Yellow River and Longyangxia Reservoir Area in the East and south, Heka town of Xinghai County in the west, Shazhuyu Township and qiabqia town of tanggemu town in the north, and Longyangxia town in the northeast, 15 kilometers away from qiabqia. The area is 1004.26 square kilometers. In 2018, 6457 people registered residence.

After 1949, Tiegai township was established. In 1958, he lived in Qugou township. In 1959, it belonged to Tiegai brigade of Longyang commune. In 1960, Tiegai commune was established and later changed to Tiegai township. As of October 2019, Tiegai township has jurisdiction over 11 administrative villages.
