Zhamashi Township, belonging to Qilian County, Haibei Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, is located in the middle of Qilian County, in the valley of the lower reaches of Heihe River, bordering Babao town in the East, mole town in the south, yeniugou Township in the west, Sunan Yugur Autonomous County in Gansu Province in the North, 17 kilometers away from the county. The area is 532.07 square kilometers. In 2018, 5048 people registered residence.
In 1952, Zhamashi township was built. In 1958, it was changed into copper mine commune. In 1984, it was changed to Zhamashi township. As of October 2019, Zhamashi township has jurisdiction over 8 administrative villages.
In 2018, Zhamashi township has 5 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.

It flows through shalongtan, Daquan and yemazui, with a total length of 175 kilometers, a drainage area of 10000 square kilometers, and an average annual flow of 57.1 cubic meters per second. Other tributaries are Babao River, Zhamashi River, Xiala River, etc.
