Qihama town
Qihama Town, subordinate to Maqu County, Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu Province, is located in the south of Maqu County. It borders ABA County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province in the East, South and West, and faces cairima Township across the Yellow River in the north. The area is 840.6 square kilometers. In 2018, 5867 people registered residence.
Before 1949, it was under the jurisdiction of Labrang monastery. In 1950, it belonged to the seventh district of Xiahe County. In 1954, it was under the jurisdiction of Maqu administrative committee. In 1958, it belonged to the agricultural team of NIMA commune. In 1959, zihama commune. In 1962, it was changed to qihama township. In 1968, qihama commune was restored. On November 25, 1983, the commune was changed to a township. In March 2017, the township was set up. In June 2020, qihama town governs five administrative villages.
In 2018, there were two industrial enterprises in qihama town.
