Shiyuan Township, belonging to Jishishan Baoan Dongxiang Salar Autonomous County, Linxia Hui Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu Province, is located in the north of Jishishan Baoan Dongxiang Salar Autonomous County, bordering Liugou Township in the southeast, Liuji Township in the west, Minhe Hui Tu Autonomous County of Qinghai Province across the river with the Yellow River in the North. The area is 53.73 square kilometers. In 2018, 10745 people registered residence.

In the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Xixiang 25 Association. In 1940, it belonged to Jishi township of Linxia county. In 1953, it belonged to Shiyuan township of seven districts. In the first half of 1958, Shiyuan commune was established. In 1983, the commune system was reformed and the commune was set up as a township. In June 2020, eight administrative villages will be under the jurisdiction of Shiyuan rural area.

In 2018, Shiyuan township has a comprehensive store or supermarket with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
