Daban Town, belonging to Dongxiang Autonomous County, Linxia Hui Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu Province, is located in the south of the east of Dongxiang Autonomous County, adjacent to Taohe River in the East, facing Lintao County of Dingxi City, chejiawan Township in the south, Dashu Township and Wangji Township in the west, and Tangwang Township and Hongqi township of Lintao County of Dingxi City in the north. The area is 51.45 square kilometers. In 2018, 31692 people registered residence.

The first year of the Republic of China (1912), belongs to Tang Wang Township. In 1950, it was under the jurisdiction of Tangwang district. In 1955, Daban township was established. In 1958, it was incorporated into Dashu commune. In 1966, Daban commune was established. In 1983, the township was restored. In 2001, the township was removed to build a town under the jurisdiction of the county. In October 2019, Daban Town governs 2 communities and 9 administrative villages.
