Pingcheng rural
Pingcheng Town, belonging to Yongdeng County, Lanzhou City, Gansu Province, is located in the northeast of Yongdeng County, adjacent to Zhenglu township of Jingtai County in the East, Shangchuan town in the south, wushengyi and Zhongbao towns in the west, and Tianzhu Tibetan Autonomous County in the north. The area is 534.2 square kilometers. In 2018, 13707 people registered residence.
In 1956, Pingcheng town was established. In 1958, Pingcheng commune was changed. In 1967, it was renamed dawning commune. In 1971, it was renamed Pingcheng commune. In 1983, it was changed to urban and rural areas. In June 2020, Pingcheng will have 13 administrative villages under its jurisdiction.
In 2018, there were 12 industrial enterprises in Pingcheng and 31 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
Historical evolution
In 1912, it belonged to Zhenwu township.
In 1951, it belonged to five townships of Xiaoshagou, yinggezui, huoshidong, pingbaobao and baituzui in Zhenwu district.
In 1956, after the district was withdrawn, the five townships were merged into Pingcheng town.
In 1958, Pingcheng commune was changed.
In 1967, it was renamed dawning commune.
In 1971, it was renamed Pingcheng commune.
In 1983, it was changed to urban and rural areas.
