Nanqin reservoir is a key water conservancy project, which mainly focuses on flood control and takes into account the comprehensive utilization of irrigation, power generation and aquaculture. It is located in the upper reaches of nanqin River, a primary tributary of Danjiang River, with a total storage capacity of more than 9 million cubic meters, and the largest tributary Jinlingsi river.

Introduction in 2008, it was listed in the national dangerous reservoir reinforcement project, and it is also one of the key large and medium-sized reservoir reinforcement projects in our city. The construction started in May 2009. after reinforcement, the flood control standard of nanqin reservoir is once in 50 years, and the check standard is once in 500 years. The successful implementation of the project not only provides preferential development conditions for nanqin reservoir as the second water source and ecological water source in Shangluo City, but also provides effective guarantee for the safety of 63000 people, 13000 mu of cultivated land, 203 provincial road, Xihe railway and Shanghai Shaanxi Expressway.
