Xinchi town belongs to Heyang County, Weinan City, Shaanxi Province. Located in the southeast of Heyang County, it borders Qiachuan town in the East, Heichi town in the south, Chengguan town in the West and Lianfang town in the north. The maximum distance from east to west is 11.4 km, and the maximum distance from north to south is 10.7 km, with a total area of 83 square kilometers.

Historical evolution

Because the site is a new village derived from HeJiazhuang Guchi, it is named Xinchi.

In 1958, it was under the jurisdiction of Fangzhen commune.

In 1961, Xinchi commune was established.

In 1984, it was changed into Xinchi township.

In 1998, it was renamed Xinchi town.
