Qindong town

Qindong town belongs to Tongguan County, Weinan City, Shaanxi Province. It is located at the junction of Qin, Jin and Henan provinces. It is adjacent to Lingbao City in Henan Province in the East, Chengguan town in the south, Huayin City in the West and Ruicheng County in Shanxi Province across the Yellow River in the north. The total area is 68.74 square kilometers.

Historical evolution

The name comes from its location in the easternmost part of Shaanxi Province.

Before 1944, each village belonged to Tongguan County, Huayin county and Wenxiang county. In the same year, there were Nanliu, Sujia, Nanjie, Aoli, Shilipu, northwest, etc., which belonged to Chengguan town; xilao and Jinpen belonged to Taolin township; sijiaoying, Huangyi and Yangjiazhuang belonged to Hancheng town; xinchengbao, Sizhi, Gongzhuang and Koizumi belonged to Sizhi township.

In 1951, Sujia, Nanliu, Nanjie, Shilipu and northwest belonged to the first district; Gongzhuang, Sizhi, taolinzhai, xinchengbao and Koizumi belonged to the second district; Jinpen and Xilu belonged to the third district; sijiaoying, Huangyi and Yangjiazhuang belonged to the fourth district.

In 1955, after the district was withdrawn and the township was merged, each village belonged to Chengguan Town, DIAOQIAO Township and Shilipu township.

In 1961, after the restoration of Tongguan County, the port commune was set up, with jurisdiction over one community and 11 production teams.

In 1984, it was changed into port town.

In August 1994, Aoli Town, Shilipu town and Qiaotou town were separated from Gangkou town.

In July 1995, it was renamed Qindong town.

In January 2002, Gangkou town and Qindong town were merged into Qindong Town, and the people's government was stationed in the former Gangkou town.

In August 2010, the new castle, Sizhi (DIAOQIAO), Gongzhuang, taolinzhai and Koizumi in Gaoqiao Township were assigned to Qindong town.

Tongguan ancient city

The former site of Tongguan city is located on the Bank of the Yellow River ten kilometers northeast of the people's Government of Tongguan County, Weinan City, Shaanxi Province.
